The back of Addy's neck, under the pleasant company says "148 / 16" does anyone know what this means.
I haven't noticed something like this on any of my other girls.

I have a pre mattel Addy with the same numbers. When I called CS months ago about it, they said those were just numbers to help them identify which head/face/skintone model goes with that particular body. Kind of like a manufacturer's lot number. It doesn't mean anything special other than you probably have a doll that was made by Pleasant Company before Mattel took over. But you can always call AG yourself and ask them.

Now, does anyone have a good idea on how to get her hair untangled?

I think I have those on my Addy too.
Addy was my first doll but sold her and am trying to get back my original doll. Havent heard from the owner in a bit but she said I should get her back one day.

It means she's West German! To untagle her hair: Spritz with water, start at the TOP and gentle untwist the strands of hair with your fingers. When you're finally done untwisting (it will take several days), then you can comb with the AG brush. I have heard that a natural hair brush works well on her hair but I haven't tried it yet. I also want to try one of those new hair pics. Don't worry if Addy sheds a LOT, she has PLENTY of hair to last a lifetime - trust me! Her hair is more textured than the following generations, but it's nice and full and fun to play with. Have fun!

I got my Addy right after she was released, and she has those numbers. I never noticed them before. It's good to know they're there.

So here's another question. Would all dolls older than her also be west german? Or was there another factory? My Kirsten and Felicity are Pre-Addy, and my addy is apparently a first edition. (these are the only 3 I know are PM, I'm fuzzy on the other dates).

Some dolls were made in Hungary in the early 90's as far as I know. Look on the tags in their meet outfits.

I just checked my Addy (an ebay purchase a few years back) and she also has these numbers. I knew she was PM because she looks different to me than the Mattel Addy, but it is really neat to think that she is one of the earliest Addys.
